Belden Richmond Plant, Manufacturing Engineer 6/2007-12/2008
Managed daily issues of process conditions, machine operators’ needs, equipment problems, process waste, resolving quality complaints, and improving labor efficiency within two manufacturing cells.
Involved in long-term plant projects including the implementation of several new product types and utilization of subsequent equipment modifications.
Assisted with Belden’s lean initiatives by participating in two kaizans. Implemented set-up wheels and process flow lanes with the goal of achieving daily scheduling. Offered insights into current state of process flow and the feasibility of shifting products from one work center to another. Managed equipment modifications necessary for prescribed product flow changes. Maintained portions of a key performance indicator (KPI) board used to communicate waste and quality issues within the manufacturing cells.
Milliken Summer Challenge 6/2006-8/2006
Worked in a team of four to integrate a sequel server into various plant processes while utilizing the server to facilitate process improvement. The project was followed out in ten step format including a final cost savings analysis and results presentation.
