• Work with R&D engineers, production managers and engineers, consultant firms and outside vendors to develop process design packages and accomplish company goals.
• Analyze and provide design solutions to solve problems within the existing plant process systems.
• Write control narratives and coordinate with electricians and controls engineers to create and modify existing PLCs as well as bring new equipment power.
• Support equipment start-ups and process commissioning by providing training to operations personnel and troubleshooting in the field.
• Size and purchase equipment for the Gilbert research facility and demonstration plant including several types of heat exchangers, pumps and VFDs, various configurations of control and manual valves, pneumatic and electric actuators, reverse osmosis and pretreatment systems, ultraviolet systems, cross-flow membrane systems, centrifuges, boilers and auxiliary systems, dry product conveyors and fillers, flow meters, transmitters, tanks, piping, fittings and more.
• Identify piping errors, develop P&ID redlines and as-builts post construction, follow up with issues to ensure piping corrections.
