OBJECTIVE
To obtain a position as a Quality Engineer WORK STATUS
U.S. Citizen, I am authorized to work for any employer.
PROFILE
Growing up, I was always interested in taking things apart and seeing how they worked. While pursuing my BSME degree, I became interested in manufacturing and seeing how products are made. Having gained some industry experience, I am strongly interested in the areas of quality assurance and test engineering.
ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
Euro Pro Operating LLC, Newton, MA (November 2011-Present)
Global Quality Department, Quality Improvement Engineer [contract]
Euro-Pro gave me the opportunity to immerse myself as a quality contractor in a fast-paced industry. I was able to perform in-depth analyses of existing products and prototypes as well as contribute in teardown analyses.
• Prepared training procedures and developed PowerPoint presentations for senior level executives.
• Participated in engineering teardowns and analyses of vacuum cleaners to identify risks and adherence to the product design standards. Was responsible for the reporting of issues found to Far East counterparts.
• Performed root cause analysis on customer returns; developed corrective action plan.
• Engaged in new product development brainstorming to identify consumer benefits and end-use application.
• Consolidated all existing warranty return defect analysis data; developed new defect codes, implemented data traceability, and generated Pareto charts.
• Developed and executed Design of Experiments, DOE. Determined pass/fail criteria and provided product improvement ideas to the Engineering and Marketing teams based on the results. Executed test plan on competitor units as well as engineering prototypes.
• Developed an engineering cost estimation tool that uses total manufacturing cost, known commodity prices, and BOM’s to determine ROI of new models.
• Executed an observational research project on consumer dissatisfactions with vacuum cleaners in order to optimize the consumer experience. Maneuverability and “weight in hand” were identified as the key attributes that would be incorporated in all future model designs. The project report:
Generated a product specification that identified all key influencing design attributes relative to maneuverability and “weight-in-hand”.
Created a test plan to evaluated competitor units, existing legacy models, and new model prototypes.
Consolidated all test data to provide a design “best practice” specification for maneuverability and developed an Excel-based tool to calculate “weight in hand”.
