Director of Operations-Chief Operating Officer
2012-Project Manager – Munton Sports Complex – Responsible for the remodel of 30,000 square foot facility that will house 11 separate companies as part of Munton Sports Complex. This included working with contractor/architect, lease development and am managing all areas of implementation in this project. To be opened May 2012.
2010 to Present – Co-host and co-producer of Dox and Jox Show ESPN 98.1 The Ticket
Developed plan and implemented the process to open a new physician practice for a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, physician’s assistant and chiropractor. This included completion of a business plan, financial analysis, recruiting professional staff. This included preparing for and obtaining financing, equipment purchases, medical supplies and applied for and reviewed third party payor contracts, state licensure, DEA, DPS and malpractice applications. Negotiated leases for satellite clinics, prepared employee handbook, policies/procedures and trained staff. Completed employment contracts and salary negotiations.
Completed process for corporation status and worked closely with attorney to develop corporate structure.
Negotiated and maintains over 65 medical practice contracts with insurance companies and manage the contracts for all vendors who provide services or products to this facility and the other 3 locations.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of this medical facility to include a 24-hour injury management program, occupational health programs, sports clinics and 3 satellite locations. Completed and implemented advertising plan, credentialing for local hospitals and clinics.
Researched and prepared all policies and procedures to include: employee handbook, human resource policies and procedures; medical business office, OSHA; competency testing, medical practice management policies and procedures. Provide ongoing training and support for all areas of the facility to include: physician recruiting, continuing education, hiring and training of staff, financial management, billing/collections, accounts payable, facility management and equipment management.
Responsible for the financial viability of this practice and reviews all financial reports and reviews billing/collection process weekly. Meet with staff and other managers to ensure smooth transition with this clinic and to ensure that all areas of the practice are functioning efficiently and effectively. Manage a 4 million dollar budget and currently reports to the President of Texas Sport & Spine.
Manages all areas of advertising to include print ad development, television ads, magazine ads, radio commercials while developing the company website. It should be noted that I now co-produce and am a co-host on a weekly radio talk show called “Dox and Jox” now being heard on the local ESPN radio station each Friday.

Business Administrator (Report to Physician Partners and Board of Governors)
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a successful physical medicine and rehabilitation outpatient facility including ambulatory surgery, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation, 4 satellite clinics, a 24-hour work injury management program, nursing and outpatient care. Specific duties include long/short term strategic planning, managed care contract negotiation and administration, facility management, formal business plan development, and marketing/business development. Initiate aggressive referral development with physicians, hospitals, clinics, case managers, employers and other health care providers. Developed and implemented advertising plan, including television commercials, radio, newsprint advertising, press releases and collateral material development (brochures and informational material). Active in public speaking to physician groups, civic organizations, colleges, radio talk show and commercials to enhance exposure and business opportunities.
Responsible for recruiting and retaining qualified professional and licensed staff including physicians, physical therapists and physician assistants. Manage a $4 Million budget, facilitate cost containment efforts, negotiate contractual relationships with insurance carriers, employers and other vendors. Direct the billing and collection department and implement ongoing policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency/productivity.
• Developed a work injury management program establishing a new source of patient referrals and reimbursement. Formulated and provide worker health and wellness programs, 24-hour work injury management, and provide effective marketing through lectures, advertising, direct mail, radio, television interviews and human-interest stories.
• Rated a distinguished employee as referrals are at an all time high – requiring a 3rd physician to handle expanded patient volume. AAAHC Survey process was successfully completed with a 3-year accreditation obtained. Established a new benefits package for employees (improved benefits and decreased costs), negotiated contractual arrangements with carriers to increase revenue, expanded into 6 satellite clinics and established a successful and profitable sports medicine program.
• Billing collection rate increased from 70% to 85% and developed an innovative budget process to control costs without compromising quality of service resulting in significant bottom line performance.
Hendrick Health System, Abilene, TX 1996 to 2000

Directed the operations, product development, facility and plant management, sales, marketing and ongoing planning for the Wellness and Corporate Services programs. This includes Occupational Health and Safety, Health Promotion, Community Liaison Office and Hendrick Health Club.
