Graduate Research Assistant: Served as research team leader for the modeling and simulation of technologies focusing on providing high-performance and fault-tolerant solutions to various networking and storage applications.
• Developed a simulation framework using the Network Simulator (NS2) to evaluate the viability of creating storage networks utilizing WANs and commodity-based equipment by exploiting iSCSI, overlay networks and storage virtualization techniques
• Developed a functional SONET model used as a part of a mission assurance/disaster recovery simulation model developed using the Mission Level Designer (MLD)
• Developed a byte-level Gigabit Ethernet simulation model using the Block Oriented Network Simulator (BONeS) to explore various methods to exploit the QoS inherent in Gigabit Ethernet based networks
