I was given the responsibility of getting this project completed after just one month of employment. This new role included coordination of the final control system design, sequence of operation, equipment start-up and commissioning plan. Developed and implemented a detailed “Cut-over” plan for a live start-up of the new plant and its integration into the existing plants chilled water piping distribution system to allow for 100% campus operation of all building cooling requirements.
• Developed the final phase of the south chilled water plants by adding a 1400 ton plate heat exchanger to serve the MRC building required to fully off-load the north chilled water plant. This responsibility included developing the preliminary $750,000 project scope for budget approval and then completing the final equipment selection, piping isometrics, DDC control system design, commissioning &training.
• Responsible for implementing new control sequences and strategies for both the north & south chilled water plant varying loads. Worked directly with power plant engineers to get there “buy-in” and educate them on the new plants load requirements and system set point adjustments required to allow for reduced secondary chilled water loop pumping horsepower during varying loads.
