Hi looking for a technically challenging position located in the US or Japan. Positions in the southwest US preferred. For Japan, positions in the Kantou area are preferred, though relocation may be considered to any area. Positions with Japanese corporations or working with Japanese clients is desired as I would like to be able to use my Japanese language skills if possible. However, this is not a hard requirement.
CAREER HISTORY:
Senior Engineering Analyst - October 2012-Present
Modal analysis of compressor airfoils (rotors and stators) for the HTF7000. Provided analysis of natural frequencies and mode shapes. Made design recommendations based upon strain energy results and Campbell plot result points for several Honeywell design iterations. Modifications of geometry done in NX, including full stator model creation from 3-D coordinates.
New design of shot peening testing fixtures and masking for Honeywell Wheel and Brake. Performed 3D modeling in NX and subsequent 2D prints using AutoCAD 2014.
Thermal fight analysis on the HPW3000 Deswirl housing and sump components as well as the CTS800 rear turbine bearing support. Hand calculation of heat transfer film coefficients. Full transient analysis runs completed for thermal. Structural sector models used for engine mounting locations. Modification of model geometry done in NX.
Performed in-depth structural FEA (finite element analysis) for Pratt & Whitney on the F-135 STOVL/CTOL and A320 engine Test Assembly. I have great familiarity with APDL macro utilization and excellent experience with model creation, meshing and repair in both ANSYS Classic and Workbench.
Performed detailed thermal engineering/heat transfer analysis using finite element computer models for Honeywell Aerospace. Projects included the Space Integrated GPS/INS and AHRS (attitude heading and reference systems) Forced and free convection simulations of zero-G environments were formed using NX Advanced Simulation.
Great experience with CNC machining centers and NC programming, NX CAM and NX POST. Provided troubleshooting and NC debugging support for Honeywell on production parts (Gears and shafts). I was able to exceed the customer requested success metrics by nearly 200%.
Excellent experience with technical requirements management and process. Previous projects include creating custom guidelines and documents for APU (auxiliary power units) requirements management work streams. Familiar with numerous official RTCA/SAE guidance including DO-178B & C, DO-160G, ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-254, DO-331.
Experience in creating sales proposals and quotes for new engineering service offerings and researching and identifying areas of market growth for emerging centers.
Global Support Engineer (Akebono Brake Corporation: Tokyo, Japan) February 2011-September 2012
Extensive experience with ANSYS V13 (Finite Element Analysis) to create meshes and perform simulation set-up.
3-D modeling and design in (CATIA Version 5 R20), I am also familiar with production of 2-D drawings and blueprints in CATIA or AutoCAD 2011. Great knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Engineering design experience with brake rotors and associated brake components (knuckles, pads, shims, plating). Experience designing and drafting for assembly line hand-tools and factory floor plans in CATIA.
Supervised and conducted manufacturing training for visiting management and executive level company officers for head office in Japan. Acted as a consultant, interpreter and liaison for all North American plants and head office in Japan for numerous international business trips.
Toyota Production System, Standardized Work, Product Cycle Development, 5S, Job Instruction Methods/TWI, PDCA and Japanese Monozukuri (the art of making value-added products)
Nuclear Engineer (Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Newport News VA) Oct 2007-July 2009
Primary responsibilities included planning, budgeting and supervision for the repair of nuclear syste...
