Relay Test - Responsible for overseeing and conducting the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of protection, control, communications, metering and SCADA equipment systems at transmission & distribution substations, generation plants and customer installations for the entire Lancaster County Region. Responsibilities included but not limited to:
• Manage, coordinate, and conduct relay test government mandated compliance testing, emergent maintenance, and capital work for the entire Lancaster County region.
• Schedule and coordinate short term and long term regional relay test activities.
• Act as the field technical lead engineer on complex high-voltage substation projects.
• Create, evaluate, and conduct test plans for complex substation projects.
• Analyze, evaluate, and report out on equipment failures or incorrect operations.
• Track government mandated testing to ensure compliance.
• Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all personnel are properly trained, conducting weekly safety observations, and conducting monthly safety meetings.

Substation Design - Responsible for the design and upgrade of electrical substations and switchyards at voltage levels ranging from 12kV to 230kV. Responsibilities included but not limited to:
• Prepared design modifications to existing systems to upgrade relays & substation equipment.
• Development of engineering drawings, such as single-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangement and grounding plans, elementaries (potential, current, and control), wiring and cable block diagrams, cable schedules, SCADA point asignment sheets, and description of relaying and control.
• Procured engineered and catalog items.
• Preform Equipment inspections.
• Prepared detailed scope/schedule/cost documents.
• Provide follow-up engineering to ensure project was constructed on-time and within budget.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
Berks 230kV Ring Bus
I served as the Lead Protection & Control Commissioning Engineer for a high voltage substation retrofit project. The scope of the project was to install protection for the addition of a 230kV line, two 230kV circuit breakers, and replace electromechanical relays with microprocessor relays. The design utilized SEL and GE Microprocessor Relays with 61850 communication protocol. The project was completed on time, on budget, and without accident or injury.
Millwood New 230/69kV Substation
I served as the Lead Protection & Control Commissioning Engineer for construction of a new high voltage substation. The scope of the project was to install protection for two 230kV lines, two 230/69kV transformers, four 69kV lines, and one 69kV cap bank. The design utilized SEL and GE Microprocessor Relays with 61850 communication protocol. The project was completed on time, on budget, and without accident or injury.
Dillerville 138/12kV Conversion
I served as the Lead Substation Design and Protection & Control Commissioning Engineer for this project. The scope of the project was to replace two 69/12kV transformers with 138/12kV transformers, add two 138kV circuit switchers, and replace two 12kV transformer circuit breakers & associated relaying. I completed the cost analysis, material procurement, and assisted with outage sequencing. I led the commissioning team on this project and handled engineering follow up. The project was completed on time, on budget, and without accident or injury.
