Solutions Centre Engineer (Technical Pre-Sales)

Analysis of Customer requirements (e.g. RFI, RFP’s) to enable the creation and preparation of technical solution designs for Epsilon’s carrier customers.
Undertaking the design of Transmission and POP solutions for Epsilon’s customers.
Extensive knowledge of SDH / SONET, Carrier Ethernet, EOS, WDM, IP, TDM & VoIP Voice services, including switching and compression.
Provision of product updates and technical advice to customers on the technical solution capabilities and business benefits.
Preparation of project plans, including scheduling, rack layout design, power design and sourcing of other network materials for Epsilon’s customers.
Close co-ordination with internal Epsilon departments for bandwidth procurement, service delivery, network planning and IP & Transmission Operations teams.
Co-ordination with external installation contractors and customers to ensure that the equipment deployment is completed on schedule and as per specification.
Knowledge of various carriers’ (e.g. PCCW, TATA, Level 3 /Global Crossing, TIS) Ethernet, SDH and Wavelength Transmission Services.
Sourcing various 3rd party network equipment e.g. Cisco Routers, Servers, OS software, AC & DC Power Distribution systems for customer projects.
Conducting internal training sessions for Sales, Business Support and Service Delivery teams on Epsilon’s Products.
Participation at industry trade shows, exhibitions, seminars and training sessions to promote products and services, and also to expand my knowledge of the market place.

Performed customer & internal patching, fault finding & remote hands tasks within Epsilon’s London Data Centre.
Liaised with customers to assist with queries regarding the Data Centre. This would also involve providing tours to potential new customers, highlighting all the key features and advantages of the facility and assisting with queries about the data centre.
Helped to diagnose and rectify customer’s faults.
Shipped and tracked very sensitive, delicate and time critical equipment and resources to new data centres for new point of presence builds or trade events for sales opportunities.
