Senior Civil/Structural Designer
* Provided the roadmap for client companies to meet increasingly stringent air quality regulations by serving as senior project computer-aided designer (CAD) on multiple URS projects for new and existing fossil fuel power plants.
-Included numerous wet flue gas desulfurization upgrades and scrubber refurbishments, closely collaborated with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Asian engineers.
-Created detailed steel design and fabrication, mechanical piping, and civil/structural drawings.
-Ensured client satisfaction by leading junior and senior drafters, delegating work assignments, tracking and documenting project status, and liaising between clients and the design team.

Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization
* Completed projects for Ameren/Edwards, Ameren/Newton, TVA, Colbert, and Southern Company/ Daniel; projects fell under the Advatech umbrella (a partnership between URS and MHI).
-Configured and generated all piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), civil, mechanical, and process drawings for these projects in collaboration with the project engineer.
-Coordinated extensive work between MHI and URS; included executing client and project engineer changes as needed; garnered written accolades from the Japanese clients for high quality work and rapid completion.
-Ensured a comprehensive understanding of the needs and requirements by clarifying detail where there were language barriers.
Scrubber Refurbishment for TMPA
* Delivered the highest quality of civil/structural and mechanical drawings for the dewatering building in partnership with the project manager, and implemented changes as requested.
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Upgrade for PacifiCorp Jim Bridger Station, Units 1, 2, & 3
* Completed the project design phase on time and within budget by creating and compiling all instrumentation, demolition, structural, and mechanical drawings in collaboration with the project engineer and the individual discipline engineers; closely tracked budget and schedule on this project.
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Upgrade for Duke Energy Gibson Station
* Ensured the fit of critical upgrades made to existing equipment by conducting a personal site visit to record measurements; furnished all structural and mechanical drawings by working with the project engineer.
LOCKWOOD, ANDREWS & NEWNAM, Austin, Texas, 2003 - 2007
Lead Team Designer
* Served as lead designer on a variety of projects for cities and municipalities including major water transmission mains, waste water gravity lines and force mains, lift stations, waster water plant demolition, main lines including tunnels under major highways, and more.

* Delivered a design for 11,300 linear feet (LF) of 78-inch water transmission main to connect to a proposed water treatment plan for water supply to multiple cities within an accelerated timeline of 45 days; included 3 tunnels at an average depth of 15+ feet and several design changes.
* Completed 2,300 LF of 24/36" water transmission main to service new development at the former Robert Mueller Municipal Airport; included a tunnel of ~1000 LF with a depth of 40 feet that would cross under Interstate 35.
