WORK EXPERIENCE:
Kriebel Resources, Clarion, PA
September 2001 – February 2006
Geological Technician/Cartographer
Primary Duties included, but were not limited to, working as a team member of the Geology Department focusing extensively on Devonian Reservoirs within 12 counties of the Appalachian Basin of western Pennsylvania to obtain profitable and beneficial results. The use of both Cartographic and Geologic skills were required.
Key Contributions:
Cartographic:
• Assemble, maintain, and update maps illustrating a prospect within the basin which included an array of detailed, technical information. This aided in decision making for the company and new or existing investors.
• Selection and evaluation of parcels of land to identify acreage to lease.
• Familiarity with DEP Regulations concerning drill sites in Pennsylvania to locate new potential drill sites.
• Selection and evaluation of potential drill sites.
• Identified deep mines in an area, potential water zones, casing and frac information for surrounding gas wells to identify potential problems which may arise.
• Provided an inventory of all potential drill sites which were subdivided into categories based upon geologic expectations.
• Utilize the DEP website to identify new drill sites, production data, and newly drilled wells in order to generate a technical report which identified any competitor activity near active prospects.
• Manage an inventory of files and images that were implemented into the mapping database.
• Responsible for adding new leases and any new information regarding the leases into the mapping system.
Geologic:
• Correlation of logs in an area to identify sand zones that may prove productive.
• Interpreting logs to determine the thickness, porosity, and cleanliness of the zone.
• Assemblage of cross sections to provide evidence of a sand bar or point bar system and a useful tool to select the next drill site.
• Calculate an economic return from a drill site utilizing logs, cross sections, and other in-house data.
• Generate proof of an existing minable underlying coal seam or proof that it is non-existent to DEP.
