Projects Experience (as a part of academic curriculum)
Projects in the Nonlinear Wave Lab, at Applied Math. Dept., ERAU
I designed together with other 4 students in Dr. A. Ludu’s team of research, better versions for air/natural gas mixer for ‘green’ large Diesel engines. We analyzed their present mixer both numerically with COMSOL CFD package and obtain stream lines and vortex lines inside the mixer, and experimentally, in the lab prototype using water and collared water and a multi-laser tomography method to investigate the distribution of the quality of mixing inside the reaction chamber. The experimental results were recorded by 120 channel 120 MHz Tektronix oscilloscopes and analyzed theoretical through similarity procedures to make them useful for gas mixing. The project is in progress.
Project on Structural Optimization of Hydraulic Ladder as a part of Advance Structural Optimization class
I was the head of the group of three people. The objective was to design the Hydraulic Ladder in CATIA. Import the design or create the same design in ANSYS. Apply the loads (stresses) and check the critical state under various testing conditions. Then put this design into HEEDS (Optimization Software) to get the optimized (safest) design which can withstand the structure under all the testing conditions subjected to maximum load (stress).
