Electrical Engineer (R&D)
• Responsible for developing both hardware and software for embedded laser medical devices mostly in C using Microchip PIC microcontrollers.
• Project leader for Emerge Fractional Laser skin rejuvenation product. (PIC24 and PIC18 uPs w/MPLab 8 Programming in C). My role was to develop serial communication between our base unit and hand unit as well as a full touch based GUI. Hardware design included implementing a RS232 to RS422 converter IC as well as a voltage regulator needed for fan control inside the hand unit.
• Work on development of Vectus Laser hair removal system. (XScale PXA 270 ARMv7 uP w/Embedded Visual C++ and WinCE). My role included GUI development as well as the main laser operating state machine.
• Develop various test fixtures for our laser medical devices.
• Familiar with FDA and CE processes which includes verification, validation, requirements specifications, etc. of our devices.
