EXPERIENCE
US Endoscopy (Mentor, Ohio) – Advanced Engineering Design Intern (1/2012 to 7/2012) The Company is a designer and supplier of specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and support accessories in support of the GI Endoscopy and Urology markets.
Responsibilities Include:
• Designed a fixture to cut down time on the gluing process using Solidworks; Developed drawings of existing fixtures to help the technicians to make additional fixtures; Designed fixtures to aid in the production process; Created 3-D solid models and drawings of existing parts
• Performed multiple pull/compression tests with an Admet Tensile Testing Machine for products in development; Skills include setting up the machine for tests with varying speeds, different ending conditions, and changing out the machine’s components to accommodate different products
• Updated documentation for FDA approval of 7 devices; Did risk analysis and verification plans as part of the approval process; Gathered biocompatibility information for the PEG KIT product line to support the FDA mandated audit process
• Initiated and performed multiple feasibility tests to evaluate the devices pushability, strength, articulation, durability, and performance for products in the design process
• Established contacts with several different biomedical vendors to understand their capabilities, and to solicit and interpret their quotes for biocompatibility and accelerated aging tests (Sample list include: Nelson Labs, MOOG, Toxikon, DDL JFP Technical Services, Yezitronix)
