Licensed Reactor Operator Candidate
- Currently enrolled in a company provided training program to earn a license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to operate the reactor at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant.
- Participate in scenario based, simulator based, and classroom based training.
- Knowledge and abilities are assessed via comprehensive written examinations and performance evaluations that include dynamic simulator activities.
- Responsible for performing on the job training in plant the main control room to complete qualifications and gain proficiency with company procedures.
DUKE ENERGY 2009-2012
Auxiliary Operator

- Provided daily and on-call reactor engineering support to the control room operators in order to maintain safe reactor operation.
- Acted as a technical contact for vendor support for onsite fuel-related activities.
NORTH CAROLINA UNIVERSITY 2008
Engineering Research Associate
- Conducted extensive trials using Total Package Analysis (TPA 5.1) software to hypothetically analyze the Yucca Mountain Repository.
- Assembled and distributed weekly progress reports in a meeting with faculty from both North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina.
- Modified the source code to diminish time needed to perform each trial.
- The final product reduced time to run a 100,000 year simulation from 20 hours to just over 4 hours. The increased efficiency made the software a viable teaching tool in a laboratory setting.
