Identified, pursued and recommended five practical and technical applications for a Deuterium-Tritium (D-T) accelerator for Research Triangle institute (RTI).
Created Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) simulations to calculate fast/thermal neutron flux outputs from a D-T accelerator applying various moderator models to optimize thermalization and obtain desired outcome.
Performed radiation simulations to determine the radiation doses coming from the D-T accelerator for a room and surrounding environments designed to meeting federal and state regulations using MCNP.
Designed shielding for accelerator according to safety standards in NCRP 151.
