• Investigated the renewable sources of energy that would produce useful fuels and chemicals and located Switchgrass as an ideal one, due to its high productivity and availability
• Performed fluidised bed gasification of torrefied and densified switchgrass with air as an oxidizing agent, which improved the quality of syngas and also improved the feeding rates
• Compared the transportation and storage costs of pretreated with raw switchgrass and found that pretreated switchgrass reduced the cost due to high bulk density
• Characterised the evolved gas analysis from torrefied and densified switchgrass using thermo gravimetry and determined the reaction kinetics to calculate the activation energy and the order of the reaction
