Ardeer Engineering provides integrated services in process and project management to the chemical process and related industries.
Project Engineer / Manager
• Spray Drying Project (completed project)
­ Constructed commercial plant for the manufacture of explosive powders.
­ Developed process equipment enabling adherence to demanding/tight tolerances.
• Ammonia Loading Up-rating Project (completed project)
­ Constructed plant for loading liquid ammonia from storage tanks into rail tankers.
­ Designed pipework/pump/vessel network for handling ammonia @ temperatures ranging from -34oC to 40oC (-29oF to 104oF).
­ Integrated and tied-in new equipment and pipework into existing operating plant and equipment.
• Ammonia Off-loading Up-rating Project (completed project)
­ Selection of equipment for cooling liquid ammonia from 40oC to -34oC.
­ Layouts to integrate new equipment and pipework into existing operating plant and equipment.

­ Refurbishment of an explosives factory that had been shut down for 9 years.
• Spray Drying Project
­ Designed and constructed pilot plant to enable development and adaptation of technology not previously used in the explosives industry.
­ Utilisation of results obtained from operation of pilot plant to design a commercial plant for the production of explosive powders.

Dec 2003 – Aug 2006 London Underground, United Kingdom
London Underground (LUL) is a major business, with over 3 million passenger journeys a day, some 500 peak trains, 253 stations, over 12,000 staff and vast engineering assets. It is publicly run with private investment.
Contract Support Manager / Project Manager
Manage the interface between LUL and the Principal Contractor (Metronet) for a portfolio of infrastructure projects worth in excess of £100mil. A few of the more significant projects are listed hereunder:
• Rolling Stock;
­ Central Line – complete refurbishment of entire fleet of 350 carriages.
­ Central Line – implementation of Automatic Train Regulation (ATR).
­ Central Line – modification to door chimes.
­ Central Line – upgrading of door interlocks.
­ Bakerloo Line – installation of anti-rollback equipment to entire fleet of trains.

• Track Replacement:
­ Ongoing campaign to replace worn/damaged track sections.
­ Full reconditioning (replacement of rail, sleepers and ballast - typically 400 metres per weekend) during scheduled weekend shutdowns:
