WORK EXPERIENCE
MC Offshore Petroleum, LLC (MCOP) Duration: July, 2011 to present
Position: Petroleum Engineer Location: Houston, TX
Production
• Analyzing daily production and monitoring pressure data from the High Island, Green Canyon platforms located in Gulf of Mexico.
• Advising lead operators on the platforms to make necessary changes to optimize the production and reduce the risk of sand production.
• Analyzing well performance and BHP data to identify sick wells for stimulation and workover.
• Proposing well workover to reduce sick well inventory and optimize the production by means of suitable artificial lift.
• Writing and reviewing procedures for coil-tubing workover/recompletion in offshore environment.
• Analyzing proposal from service companies and awarding work for coil-tubing operations/workover on offshore platform.
• Writing AFE’s for any well work to be done on the platforms.
• Supervising workover operations including the perforation, well testing and completion.
• Presenting and discussing opportunities with partners for AFE approval.
Reservoir
• Performing reservoir study on the existing producing fields to evaluate the remaining reserves and to identify any drilling and recompletion opportunity in High Island and Green Canyon areas in Gulf of Mexico.
• Interpreting and analyzing well logs in existing and new wellbores to identify opportunities.
• Identifying the wells to be abandoned under Idle-Iron program to comply offshore regulations.
• Performing reservoir study to evaluate the possible acquisition candidate fields in a bid to increase the reserves.
Facility
• Identifying the old equipment on the platforms and preparing a program to repair or replace them in phased manner.
• Advising lead operators on the procurement of new equipment and have a discussion with vendors to get the right equipment.
• Communicating with lead operators on the platform to gather all the information so that it is readily available.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Duration: Sept, 2004 to Dec, 2008
Position: Production Engineer Location: Mehsana, Gujarat, INDIA
Achievements
• Member of the workover planning team responsible for reducing the sick well inventory from 17% to 10% in a year by tactical deployment of workover rigs.
• Saved significant time and resources by proposing controlled height of cement plug during the cement job resulting in improved workover index and lower cost of operations.
Shift Supervisor
• Worked as shift In-charge in an onshore work over rig and led a team of 8 members.
• Learned basic safety procedures and well workover operations.
Rig Supervisor
• Participated in multi disciplinary decision making team of Reservoir, Logging and Stimulation team as a workover supervisor to plan a well workover.
• Member of workover planning team to analyze the sick well inventory and to reduce sick well inventory by means of optimum utilization of workover rigs.
• Supervised workover operations in Balol, Becharaji, Lanwa and Santhal fields where in-situ combustion is being employed to produce crude oil. Wells are prone to fishing operations and have a high risk of blow-out.
• Coordinated all the third party jobs involving well logging, stimulation and completion giving meaningful inputs to reservoir team for better reservoir management. Stimulation jobs i...
