PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Petroleum Engineer, Core Laboratories 2011-Present
Perform well completion engineering analysis, including hydraulic fracturing design and simulation and transient well test analysis, on unconventional reservoirs.
Conduct extensive scientific studies and application of fracturing software.
Complete imbibition tests to evaluate shale fluid sensitivity and recommend changes to the production method based on test results to improve gas production in shale reservoirs.
Steer laboratory, multi-phase flow tests and simulation studies to understand gas and water flow mechanism in the reservoirs.
Build VBA programs to improve efficiency and accuracy of retrieving and organizing experiment data.
Communicate effectively with clients to provide directions in core sampling operations.
Research Assistant, University of Kansas – Tertiary Oil Recovery Project 2008-2011
Designed experiments to develop an alkaline surfactant polymer solution for Wahrman field crude oil, which demonstrated more than 95 percent of water-flood residual oil recovery efficiency in laboratory scale chemical floods and will be placed into field application later in 2013.
Learned to operate lab equipment for characterizing and measuring properties of chemical slug, HPAM polymers and micro-emulsion, including viscosity, interfacial tension, pH and conductivity.
Acquired the skills of core preparation and characterization with tracer; setting up and running core flood equipment; data acquisition and interpretation; and presentation of the results.
