Skills
I have two primary skills. I have 14 years of hands on experience of new product development, from initial concept to the shop floor. Areas of personal intense involvement were concept innovation, specifications, electronic design (analog and digital), prototype, model shop, performance testing, quality assurance, tooling, test equipment, pilot run, vendor selection and volume production. Products are generally electronic power conversion, lighting and controls, both commercial and military. I have worked with UL, CSA and DOD (Dept. of Defense) specifications. I earned 5 US patents in electronic control and power conversion.
The second area is business management. I have had senior executive positions in areas of engineering, quality and operations with 500 employees. I have been with one company for 20 years and helped to grow it from 2 million to over 60 million with respectable margins. I have experienced growth challenges yet had to manage recessionary periods.

Work Experience in ascending chronological order
Junior Electro-Mechanical Engineer, General Signal Company-(First Job) Two Years
I had design, test, prototype, UL, CSA submissions, tooling and pilot run responsibilities. Products include audible devices, fire alarm components and transformers.
Electrical Engineer, Fermont Div. of DCA Three Years
Fermont built military engine generator sets from 10 kw to 2 megawatt. I started out as a laboratory technician and in a short time I then became solely responsible for company wide electronic design. For example, the circuits I designed were controls of voltage, engine speed, overload, short circuit and paralleling. Also DOD (Dept. of Defense) sent me on forensic field assignments. All circuits met DOD “Precise Power” specifications. M...
