Quality Engineer (Process and Military Programs) 10/09-01/13
• Quality lead on $350M government DX rated program. Review, edit and authored reports for technical qualification and concerns. Liaison between government agency, on site government inspectors and company on technical discussions.
• Process Quality engineer for the complex assembly line. Chair of technical review board for all changes. Review board confirmed compliance of changes with PCN, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Medical registrations. Changed culture from part based to attribute based to identify better controls (FMEA) resulted in 20% reduction in yield detractors.
• Resolved conflict between government source inspectors and manufacturing floor. Increasing outgoing quality by about 40%, and eliminating the need for separate areas for source inspection.
• Four projects in 3 years that generated revenue or saved money over $1M. Mentored 3 graduate interns all of which received accredited black belt certification.
• Site Statistician for comparison techniques, DOE, gage r&r, life fail analysis and unique requests by government customer

Advisory Engineer 07/07 – 10/09
• Lead floor support engineer for 103 CNC drill machines of a high end, high reliability server board manufacturer. Responsibilities include production yield, machine utilization, process development, identifying capitol equipment and installation, and process and material specifications.
• Six Sigma Green Belt project lead on cost reduction project of $1.1 M annually savings
• Author of quality specification for gage studies (gage R&R), and site SAS programmer.
Staff Engineer 11/03-07/07
• Led technical team of 8 in drill portion of portfolio base expansion into military market. Led team on installation of $2M of capitol equipment, new room construction, and required equipment characterization reports published within target dates.
• Created specifications for CNC drill machines including on site testing follow up at the top three vendor sites in Japan, Germany, and California. Oversaw purchase of $1M in capitol equipment that led to reduced new tool qualification time from 12 to 2 weeks based on evaluation data and vendor support.
• Instituted a theory of like stresses for approaching the major yield detractor. Brought a 9% yield detractor down to 1.5% on the highest revenue part, realizing a savings of $150k/ year; recognized with an Achievement Reward.
• Led registration team of four engineers on a potential $500k recall with a major customer. Resolved prints, connector problem, and measuring techniques for a satisfactory resolution
• Contact for ISO 9001 (BVQi) audits and customer audits for the drill sector. Passed all major audits with no non-conformances, and no ISO “chance for improvement.”
