PROJECTS

Design of an RF Low Noise Amplifier IC. ( Fall 2011)

- Designed a 2.4 GHz CMOS LNA for the given specifications of Gain( 20dB), Noise Figure( 2dB) and Power( 9mW). The transistor- level design was verified by Spice simulations.

- Optimized the design to obtain the lowest possible noise figure for the given power of 9mW.

Design of an analog IC for a portable neutron detection system.( Spring 2012)

- Designed an Integrated Circuit as the front-end of a neutron detector using 0.5 um standard CMOS technology in PSpice. The functional blocks of the IC included a folded cascode block constituting the charge amplifier, a source follower, a comparator and inverters.

- Modified the design existing in literature to account for possible DC shifts at the input current level, making the system auto- adjusting. The design was successfully verified using simulations.

Design of a pure sine wave DC-AC inverter using SiC FETs. (Spring 2013)
- Designed a 120V (rms) 60Hz pure sine wave inverter circuit using Pulse Width Modulation techniques and a H-bridge switching configuration.
- The circuit used SiC FETs for switches and the design was verifies by SPICE simulations.

GaN fabrication technology: A project presentation. (Spring 2012)
- The various Gallium Nitride fabrication methods including HVPE, MOVPE and Ammonothermal growth were studied, compared and presented as a part of a course project.
