A professional engineer and project management professional with extensive and proven record of success in large, complex, process, capital projects, involving site selection and development, engineering design, procurement, construction, environmental safety and health, commissioning, startup, operations, risk mitigation, and decommissioning and dismantling. In addition, estimating and scheduling (EVMS) expertise from conceptualization through start-up with working experience of Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project.

Projects have ranged in size from $50k to over $1MM, for site selection, environmental studies, engineering design, systems engineering, EPC projects, construction, and remediation. Projects have been located at both greenfield and brownfield sites, and facility upgrades and retrofits at operating facilities. These projects have varied in size to include the management of over 350 professionals and 250 craft/labor.

Construction methods have included self perform, subcontractors, and combination of the two.

Project manager at the Bayer Crop Science facility in Kansas City, MO. Focusing on infrastructure and process improvement EPC projects.

Project controls Engineer on contract with Exide Technologies in Milton, GA. Supported projects on battery chargers both internally and at outside vendors.

02/2009 – 03/2012 Engineering Manager, Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc., Aiken, South Carolina

At the $4.6B Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility, (MOX), a DOE/NNSA/NRC EPC project in Savannah River, was the construction project manager for turnover. Provided leadership and planning skills to ensure a timely and seamless transition from construction activities to commissioning, and cold and hot startup activities. Identified construction craft support requirements to support commissioning and startup. Developed, directed, facilitated, and mitigated interface and risk activities between procurement, engineering design, construction, and project controls (scheduling) that would adversely impact construction schedule and cost and ultimately impacting fee bearing milestones. Provided design and constructability reviews to maintain configuration control.

As Area Project Manager for all mechanical construction activities at MOX, developed, directed, and facilitated interface activities between procurement, engineering design, construction, and project controls (scheduling) to ensure that the mechanical craft had a backlog of work to maintain and improve productivity.

Supported the development of In-advanced testing procedures for the MOX facility, by preparing templates to be used for Americanizing (French authors), consistency and to reduce audit traps, both internally and with the NRC. Provided final reviews before procedures were sent out to other organization for comment.

As engineering manager responsible for the rebuilding of Shaw’s presence in the DOE marketplace in East Tennessee including operations and marketing, focusing on NNSA and EM work. Capture manager and PM (seller/doer) for an A-E design BOA with UT-Battelle that was awarded in the spring of 2010. He led the proposal effort for the ETTP rebid from inception through submittal. He has served on the Board of Directors for two LLCs that Shaw is the minority partner, PRS and aRc.

As engineering manager, Mr. Lenyk has used his subject mater expertise to provide peer review and DCR services to Plant Vogtle and MOX. He has focused on facilities infrastructure/utilities and design modifications to process systems.

Program Director, Burns and Roe, Idaho Falls, Idaho and Oak Ridge, Tennessee

As Program Director for Burns and Roe established the Idaho Falls, ID and Oak Ridge, TN offices. Managed the Battelle Energy Alliance contract and various other related contracts at the Idaho National Laboratory and out of the Oak Ridge office. He was responsible for marketing Burns and Roe and obtaining, negotiating, and managing task orders and contracts. Projects ranged from nuclear operations support through detailed nuclear design and procurements under NQA-1. Configuration control (with scientists from multiple National Laboratories) and preparation of SDDs and FDDs were aspects of all design projects. Projects include: Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) outage support and oversight; ATR Life Extension; the Next Generation Nuclear Plant (NGNP) reactor island and BOP; Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) nuclear reactor with reprocessing facility; and the International Magnetic Confinement Fusion Research/Engineering project (ITER) cooling water system. He served as program manager for various design projects at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL); Facilities Upgrades for the TA-55 plutonium facility; Nuclear Materials Safeguards and Security Upgrade Project (NMSSUP) at TA-55 including Design Basis Threat; and TA-55 Radiography project for manufactured nuclear components and assemblies. He lead the independent cost estimates for both private and private sector projects including the American Centrifuge Project; Plutonium 239 Consolidation Program; 4S reactor project at Galina, Alaska; commercial small reactor program with B&W; and supported the U233 Down Blending Project. The above projects ahs resulted in extensive work experience with test reactors, next generation reactor design, hot cells, glove boxes and NQA-1 procurements.
