• Conducted full metallurgical failure analysis on approximately 100 field return parts in order to
create and present a formal report. These reports were used in developing part design changes,
as well as resolving customer warranty claims.
• Provided metallurgical expertise and consultation as a valuable team member in Continuous
Product Improvement projects that were implemented in order to extend engine operation field
life.
• Gained responsibilities for the operation and quality control of in house furnace, and induction
heat treatment processes involving crankshafts and connecting rods. This included providing shop
support, as well as reviewing and responding to the results of heat treatment audits.
• Reviewed, developed, and conducted quality evaluations for over 150 supplier process changes
and production part approval processes of casting components. After review, I was responsible
for the approval or rejection of the metallurgical quality of these components.
• Coordinated the development of, and published four Metallurgical Operating Procedures that were
used as acceptance quality guidelines for engine blocks, heads, and exhaust manifolds.

• Trained in technical usage of a Scanning Electron Microscope. I utilized this skill to create an
accessible EDS material library database of more than 30 materials used in the casting process.
• Developed, conducted, and analyzed the results of an experiment to calculate a magnesium fade
timer during the ductile iron pouring process that is now used in the foundry.
• Created work procedure documents that will provide an accurate resource for proper procedures
and expedite new employee training.
