Hired to lead the design and launch team. Responsible for designing products easy to manufacture on the floor, and meeting customer needs, including FDA regulatory requirements. Plus the performance reviews, career development and program assignment for 4 reports.
Key Contributions:
* Create CRM tool from scratch. Used Outlook to fashion a CRM tool to track potential customers from initial inquiry to sample build.
* Reduce engineering work request duration. Measured duration between work flow steps and added rigor to process. Reduced duration by 66% (from 4 weeks to 1.5 weeks).
Senior Project Manager (contract), Kustom Signals, Inc. – Lenexa, KS 2013-2014
Design, assembly and support of law enforcement radar, lidar and in-car & body-worn video equipment
Brought in to get new in-car video platform ($1.5M budget) back on track. Project was one year late and almost 100% over budget. Managed schedule, budget and risk for three subcontractors. Established weekly status meetings at the engineering and manufacturing facilities.

Design, assembly and support of turbomachinery control systems for the oil & gas industry
Responsible for new product introduction and support at a $150M business. Established a scope management process to reduce scope creep in software releases, improving cycle time. Created a Test & Verification department to address escaping defects. Our first activity was to introduce early integration testing. The first application identified 60 issues prior to beta release.
Conducted the performance reviews, career development and program assignment for five direct report managers in a department of 28. Exposed my team to project management concepts with on-site VSM and Requirements training. Participated in Dale Carnegie training with my direct report managers.
Led a team of peers to define our 5-year strategy using cloud technology with industrial control systems. Created the level 1 schedule, budget, risk register and assumptions within two months.
