Crane Design Contest March 2013-June 2013
Design Course Project, UC San Diego
• Designed structural parts for the model crane using SolidsWorks within a 2 week deadline.
• Fabricated structural parts using aluminum tubes and sheet metal within 1.5 week deadline.
• Managed the budget for the crane structure which included rentals, testing fees, and maintenance.
• Responsible for the fabrication of the structure along with the mechanical system that would transfer cargo.
Drawbridge Design Contest Jan. 2013-March 2013
Design Course Project, UC San Diego
• Drafted entire drawbridge in SolidsWorks with motion simulation to replicate lifting of the drawbridge to allow cargo ships to safely pass through.
• Oversaw quality control for the pouring of Hydrostone and detailing with the mechanical parts during fabrication.
• Allocated virtual funds between materials for fabrication, equipment rentals, and testing fees.
