Primarily responsible for the independent quality assurance (IV&V) reviews of projects’ processes and products in the SSA’s primary systems IT organization. Work with Project Managers and Planning Personnel to help keep projects on track for success. Perform audits of large and small scale high-profile projects across several components. Review and modify existing Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process for the entire organization. Edit submitted information to modify the SDLC to make sense and be readily usable to project managers and team members. Train project managers, planning personnel, and other Information Technology related personnel in the SDLC processes, procedures, standards, guidance, and products required for SSA project development.

Initial member of a newly formed Independent Verification & Validation (IVV) team for the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hours Division – IT branch, tasked with helping the reorganization of the department and developing its processes. Created and implemented an IV&V plan to encompass both full start-to-finish SDLC activities as well as ad hoc and in-progress development. Analyzed tasks, researched information, determined that best course of action for responses, and documented the entire process. Managed a team comprised of contract testers and SSA analysts in the validation (testing) process of a high-profile project expected to detect billions of dollars of fraudulent SSA claims through the initial two releases. Organized and trained members to master and test a web-based application designed to convert/replace legacy mainframe and paper-driven processes as well as integrate the new product with a third party business partner.
