Supervise a crew of 9 Union hourly employees. In charge of a fleet of five 240 ton Kress trucks, two LeTourneau 1100 front end loaders, two CAT 993 front end loaders, and two rubber tired dozers. Directed the coal mining activities according to the plans produced by the engineers. Performed safety audits on equipment as well as critical task observations and plan task observations. Coordinated with maintenance on the planned work as well as fire-calls and priorities of the equipment.
• Production Supervisor – Reclamation Haulage
Supervise a crew of 10 Union hourly employees. In charge of a fleet of seven CAT 785 150 ton end dumps, three CAT 994 front end loaders, three 16H and 16M motor graders, two CAT D10 dozers and one D11 dozer. Directed the reclamation activities according to the plans produced by the engineers. Performed safety audits on equipment as well as critical task observations and plan task observations.
• Senior Production Planner
Mentoring/directing and teaching younger engineers in all four roles of short range planning including:
Dragline Planning, Drill & Blast Planning, Grade Control, Reclamation Planning
Special projects for forecast accuracy and optimization
• Grade Control Engineer
Weekly planning and scheduling of the Kress truck and Coal loader Fleet. Load location and stockpile allocation based on grade of coal. Blend planning to achieve target sales grade of coal. Scheduled the blend facility’s objectives to sell the correct grade of coal. Coordination with Marketing and Logistics for sales forecasts for 12-24 months. Dilution analysis of in-situ coal versus run of mine coal to help mine the coal cleaner. End of Month Reporting and reconciliation. Government EIA yearly reporting and reconciliation. Reconciliation of tons actually mined to the mine model’s projections.
• Reclamation Engineer
Weekly planning and scheduling of the end dump and CAT 994 Loader fleet. Dig and dump locations with associated rates. Coordinated regrade work top soiling work with Environmental group. Ramp design, pre-strip volumetric calculations and Pre-Strip design. End of month reporting and reconciliation. Three month forecasting. Utilization of the Dozer2000 software: creating design files and uploading the files to the specified machines that were performing the work.

LUMINANT EXPERIENCE, Big Brown Mine, March 2010 – October 2011

• Big Brown Mine Turlington Reclamation
Developed a new post mine topography after the box cut was completed to account for different placement of spoils. Then took that PMT and developed a new reclamation plan for the area with drainages and watersheds that would handle the appropriate water runoff and distributed that runoff to the appropriate creeks to maintain the landowners water requirements.
• Big Brown Mine C-Area Reclamation
Developed post mine contours that tie the final pit design into the existing topography and approved post mine contours while minimizing extra dirt work and haul distances of suitable material that needs to be placed throughout the final reclaimed pit. Developed mobile equipment fleet based on a set timeline for completion and a schedule for measurable milestones for permit revision submittal. Developed an alternative equipment fleet, including a dragline, for an expedited completion timeline as well as a schedule that corresponds to the expedited timeline. Developed a sequence of dirt work for optimal utilization of equipment without impeding coal hauling or final suitable material placement.
• Dragline Planning and Sequencing
Weekly, monthly 3 month and yearly planning and projections. Dig sequence option evaluation to make production goals as well as minimize downtime. Ramp design for both coal hauling and for dragline walking. Pit design for optimal coal recovery, taking into account ground control plan as well as drainage and material type to ensure safe areas for workers to produce coal. Box pit range diagram analysis as well as step sequence analysis for dragline spoil placement.
• Pre-stripping Contractor Planning
Weekly, monthly and 3 month planning and scheduling. Cycle time analysis for contractors to optimize leading and dumping locations. Volumetric calculations using AutoCAD and Carlson for monthly invoices for contractors. Pre-strip bench elevation analysis and evaluations using AutoCAD and Carlson grid manipulations.

MARSTON PROJECT EXPERIENCE March 2008 - March 2010

• Youngs Creek Mining Company LLC - Mining and Reclamation Plan Design and Financial Evaluation, Sheridan, Wyoming
Haul profiling for Youngs Creek Mine consisting of FPC and Microsoft Excel software support.
• Eskom Generations - Elders Opencast Project, South Africa
Haul profiling consisting of FPC and Microsoft Excel software support. Produced and analyzed cross sections using MineScape, ArcGIS and AutoCAD software support.
• Luminant Mining Company - Martin Lake Mine Project, East Texas
Dragline productivity calculations using Microsoft Excel software support. Consumption rate calculations and cost model updates using Microsoft Excel software support. Operating dollars per hour calculations using Microsoft Excel software support. Monthly operating lease calculations using Microsoft Excel software support. Haul profiling and truck productivity calculations for the Martin Lake Lignite Mine Complex using FPC, MineScape and Microsoft software support. Dragline boxcut simulation using 3D-dig software support. Pit optimization utilizing Mincom’s dragline module. Range diagram production and optimized pit report. Conducted a training class with an emphasis on scheduling with Mincom’s Schedule module. Pit design, batterblock generation and solids from batterblocks generation using Mincom’s OpenCut module followed by scheduling of Oak Hill. From the schedule, produced progress plan maps utilizing outputs from Mincom and making the final products with AutoCAD. Pre-stripping scenarios run using different levels of pre-stripping benches to optimize the dragline productivity with Mincom’s schedule package. Grid Manipulation for Diluted BTU grids to be used in pit profiles and cross sections. Pit Profiles and Cross sections created using Mincom’s Plot Slot module.
