Education
University of Tennessee – Knoxville, TN
• Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, May 2013 (GPA: 3.69 of 4.0)
• Graduate Certificate in Nuclear Criticality Safety, May 2013
University of Tennessee – Knoxville, TN
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, May 2012 (GPA: 3.72 of 4.0)
Louisiana State University – Baton Rouge, LA
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, May 2007 (GPA: 3.6 of 4.0)
Work Experience
Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation, May 2013 – Present
• Nuclear Engineer at AMS supporting R&D projects and in-plant I&C testing at nuclear power plants
o Work with other engineers to execute R&D projects, write papers and prepare presentations for conferences and clients, and perform I&C testing in nuclear power plants
o Promoted to project manager and given an R&D project to manage on the implementation of online monitoring technologies in small modular reactors
University of Tennessee/Oak Ridge National Laboratory, May 2012 – May 2013
• Graduate Research Assistant at UT doing research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory
o Worked primarily with the SCALE computer code modeling fuel reconfiguration in spent nuclear fuel storage casks and developing template models of storage casks being used at reactor sites.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, January 2012 – May 2012
• Undergraduate Student Researcher
o Worked on an NRC sponsored benchmark study at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory using the SCALE code to model oscillation studies performed at the MINERVE reactor. The modeling included calculations to find reaction rates and sensitivity analyses to determine system sensitivity to different added isotopes.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, May 2011 – August 2011
• NESLS Engineering Summer Intern
o Worked under the guidance of a mentor on a summer research/engineering project. Used the SCALE code to model common PWR and BWR fuel assemblies, then calculated unshielded dose rates for each assembly type given a range of irradiation histories and varying lengths of time after being removed from a reactor. These analyses were used to determine the self-protecting nature of any given fuel assembly of known irradiation history and cooling time in the U.S.
