• Evaluate, develops and improves manufacturing methods for quality control standards by the use of Lean, Six Sigma and/or Lean Six Sigma Methods that result in lower cost to the company.

Work Systems Design Engineering Project
This project involves the following:
• Improve ergonomically the Circulation area of the University of Turabo Library. To analyze the problem the engineering standards as RULA, Noise and Illumination were useful.
• Upon completion of the project will organize the work area so that was safe for the employee, in compliance with OSHA regulations. Was oriented to the employees of the correct postures. Using existing resources not sloped or expenses to implement the new changes.

Work Measurement Engineering Project
This project involves the following:
• Calculation of work sampling to small companies.
• The company is having lost approximately $1000 per day due to delays in processing orders.
• The study results showed that there was a great loss of time in activities that were not added value.
• The recommendations given are that adopting the method of 5’s to reorganize the area and tools. Also use the method of Just in Time to avoid excess inventory and process having the quantity demanded and have the necessary equipment just for the week.

Industrial Safety and Health Management Project – Create an Safety Manual
• Provide engineering support to the Safety Manual that is a key element in the pursuit of safety in an industry.
• The project requires the student to review both OSHA and PR OSHA regulations in order to write a compliant manual that gives guidelines that prevent accidents and lesions for workers.
