Industry Experience
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - Structural Engineering Research Centre, (CSIR-SERC), India
(July 2012 – July 2013)
Worked in the department of computational mechanics and structural health monitoring as a research intern under the
guidance of Chief Scientist, Dr.A. Rama Mohan Rao, CSIR-SERC on Non Linear System Identification Techniques,
Operational Modal Analysis and Damage detection.
Larsen & Toubro Construction, India (May 2012 – June 2012)
Completed summer training and worked as an intern in the structural design department by designing a typical entry/exit
arm for a station in the $2.2 billion Hyderabad Metro Rail Project under the supervision of N. Murali Mohan, Senior
Engineer, L&T ECC, Hyderabad
Jindal Steel Works, Vijaynagar, India (May 2010 – August 2010)
Completed summer training as an intern and came out with an exhaustive report on the understanding and analysis of
various processes in the steel plant over two months in constructive collaboration with other student interns.
Projects/Research Experience
Applications Of Cointegration in Structural Health Monitoring (July 2012 – July 2013), CSIR-SERC
This project reviews the application of Cointegration Technique in the context of Structural Health Monitoring and is
applied to certain benchmark systems to remove the influence of changing environmental and operational conditions
when attempting to infer structural conditions from monitoring data. This is done so that alerts are not raised due to mild
or benign changes.
Operational Modal Analysis of multi degree of freedom vibration systems based on Smooth Orthogonal
Decomposition (July 2012 – July 2013), CSIR-SERC
Smooth Orthogonal Decomposition overcomes the deficiencies of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for modal
analysis. Under this project this technique has been reviewed and validated by applying it to four different kinds of
benchmark systems using MATLAB
Nonlinear System Identification Techniques and Recent Advances (July 2012 – July 2013), CSIR-SERC
Implemented a denoising algorithm based on wavelet transform and tested for various real noise containing responses.
Also implemented nonlinear system identification techniques in MATLAB using Hilbert Huang Transform and
Principal Orthogonal Decomposition. These techniques were also tested for various benchmark systems by introducing
nonlinearities.
Decision Making Analysis for Ranking of General Circulation Models (January 2012 – May 2012), BITS Pilani
Designed and implemented a program using Visual Basic...
