Special Projects
• Led an engineering group to design and test an aluminum triangular truss in a class competition that was based on the strongest and lightest truss with an optimal weight to load ratio.
• Used AutoCAD 3D 2010 to design a new roadway in uptown Charlotte. Performed earthwork, vertical curve, and horizontal curve calculations to meet the client’s specifications.
• Designed and analyzed a reinforced concrete parking deck using SAP2000 based on the latest codes.
• Designed and molded multiple samples of concrete beams and cylinders for lab testing. Steel rods were tested in tension to generate stress-strain curves.
• Worked in a team with geotechnical, environmental, and transportation engineers to design a 4 story office structure. A documented journal of work performed was kept for engineering records
