Ms. Howard is a hazard analyst working in the Safety Basis Department at Sandia National Laboratories/NM as an Industrial Facilities Safety Basis Team Member. She provides support to hazard analysis and quality assurance at Sandia Facilities in support of Operational and Facility Safety Projects. Her support includes hazard identification, hazard evaluation, qualitative risk assessment, thread analysis, document review and development, and explosives safety. Ms. Howard is also a trained scribe for hazard analysis workshops.

Ms. Howard was a Student Laboratory Technician for the Bureau of Geology’s Wet Chemistry Lab at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology for six semesters between 2011 and 2014. Throughout her employment with the Wet Chemistry Lab, she was responsible for sample login and processing, including measurement of the pH, conductivity and alkalinity of water samples. Ms. Howard also prepared samples for, and analyzed them on, ICP-MS and OES equipment. Ms. Howard also participated in the analysis of soil samples, measuring moisture content and preparing samples for further analysis through the use of acid digestion.
