In her brief, but passionate work, she has performed as the Executive (Board) Secretary of Engineers Without Borders - Seattle (Professional Chapter) and won The Mortenson Center - Engineering for Developing Communities Prize for Social Entrepreneurship. In addition, Ms. Scanlon is one of six engineering student representatives named to the Engineering Excellence Fund Committee at CU Boulder, which is responsible for the allocation of over $400,000 in engineering projects and programs at the university. She has a special interest in structural design, compressed earth block construction, and international development. She is a contributor to Architecture For Humanity’s, Design Like You Give a Damn 2, and is currently leading a team with Engineers Without Borders to design, fund and implement multiple rainwater catchment systems in Northern Rwanda. She is conversant in Revit, CAD, Engineering Equations Solver (EES), VISUAL and InDesign.
