Engineering Experience

· During my senior year at HSU, I have gained experience with design project assignments related to applied hydraulic systems, renewable energy systems, water quality, building energy analysis, and a living shoreline project. The following is a summary of my academic experience related to engineering:
· Designed small water distribution system using EPAnet software
· Designed small storm water runoff system using StormCAD software
· Gained experience with water quality measurement devices and analysis of dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, conductivity, turbidity, BOD5, as well as, testing for nitrates, phosphates, alkalinity, hardness, and coliform bacteria.
· Collaboratively designed ground-mount grid-connected 1.6 GW commercial solar system for Blue Lake Rancheria
· Designed off-grid solar system for a small health clinic in rural Tanzania, Africa
· Collaboratively conducted building energy analysis, evaluating energy performance of Science D building at HSU and provided energy saving retrofits recommendations report to the facility management.
· Collaboratively designed a living shoreline design project for the city of Arcata to protect the Waste Water Treatment Plant from potential flooding during severe storms.
Skills & Abilities
COMPUTER SKILLS
· Proficient with Microsoft office and have experience with many other popular programs like: Microsoft Project, StormCAD, SewerCAD, EPAnet LabVIEW, WindFarmer, Windographer, some AutoCAD, programming with FORTRAN, and few other programs related to environmental resources engineering. Also, I am a quick learner, so learning how to use other programs, or to become proficient with programs such as AutoCAD should pose no difficulties.
COMMUNICATION
· While working for Albertsons I have gained a great amount of experience in communication by interacting on daily basis with team members, customers and upper management. My communication skills experience include daily verbal interactions, inter-office memos, emails, reports, hosting weekly meetings and occasional presentations.
