WORK EXPERIENCE
*Pall Corporation*, Port Washington, NY
/Laboratory Analyst - Test Engineer/ (Hydraulics Laboratory)
June 2011 – September 2012
• *ISO 9001 laboratory* - Executed job orders associated with multi-pass testing procedures (performance evaluations) of filter elements used in industrial machinery, aircrafts, and locomotives. Procedures were performed on industrial-sized test stands per ISO (International Organization of Standardization) & SAE International procedural standards.
• *Assembly and design* of test setups required extensive and resourceful knowledge of fittings (AN, pipe, swage), O-rings / gaskets, and tubing / valve / pressure gauge placement. Test stand flow rates were operated between 2 - 100 GPM at oil temperatures up to 225°F.
• Self-Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing of any issues relating to the operation of tests performed on test stands
• Tested filter elements for U.S. Military projects (Sikorsky aircrafts), internal R&D projects, and specific customer issues / requests
• Coordinated with project managers and lab management to discuss the details, progress, & results of projects
• Projects worked on typically had strict deadlines and were time sensitive - Worked under pressure
• 5S Methodology - Reorganized lab equipment & materials to optimize space, efficiency, & the appearance of the laboratory
• Multi-tasking was essential – setup and ran tests, performed multiple procedures simultaneously, analysis of data, writing of reports, inspecting and logging in test samples, recording procedures in lab notebooks, discussions with managers
• Other procedures associated with multi-pass testing include gravimetric analysis, filter area calculations, bubble pointing, & viscosity measurements.
• Calibrated equipment including automatic particle counting sensors, pressure transducers, turbine flow meters, and thermocouples
• Generated lab reports in both Microsoft Excel & Word - Reports also include charts, graphs, and photographs.
*Hi-Tech Pharmacal*, Amityville, NY
/Metrologist/ (Equipment Calibration)
October 2012 – November 2013
• GMP Facility - Calibrated the following equipment per United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards (some of these calibrations were performed in a sterile clean room environment):
o Cary UV/Vis Spectrophotometers
o Chart recorders
o Controlled temperature chambers (from small incubators to entire storage warehouse areas)
o Digital thermometers
o Dissolved oxygen analyzers (verification)
o Mixers and inverters
o Oxygen analyzers (N2 generation system)
o Pressure gauges
o Temperature sensors on production lines
o TOC analyzers
o UV optical sensors
• Validated sterile Autoclaves and dry heat ovens - Generated lethality calculations and reports from data per USP standards
• Created / Updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Reviewed calibration standards set by the USP for revisions of calibration procedures
• Coordinated with outside vendors for purchasing of tools, parts, and scheduling of both on-site and off-site calibration services for equipment our department could not calibrate (such as load cells, certain viscometers, and check weights and scales)
• Coordinated with all other department managers for calibration scheduling and equipment removal for calibration
• Trained new employees in all aspects of work
• Performed water system sanitizations in emergency situations (extended power loss) in addition to scheduled sanitizations
• Responsible for daily checks on parameters of water systems (pressure, water quality, TOC counts, resin bed exchanges) and nitrogen generation systems (for compressed air)
• Called in and supervised changing of resin beds on water systems – Liason with operator from Siemens and escorted him throughout the facility, supervised and checked the exchange - Checked water system for acceptable readings before releasing use to compounding departments
• Generated reports for all performed calibrations - Maintained and organized all relevant calibration documents and reports - Updated Blue Mountain Calibration software with results
