Plant Operator:
To operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes.
Perform all aspects of sampling including chlorine residual, total suspended solids, temperatures, Ph's, and dissolved oxygen.
Monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management.
Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery
On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump stations.
Conduct the necessary checks of the treatment plant on a rotating basis.
Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
Maintain open communications with the Supervisor regarding the treatment process and pump
stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems.

Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
Filter Press Operator:
Start and verify that all equipment in operation is working properly and make necessary adjustment.
Measurement of levels of sludge thickening tanks.
Open and adjust valves to pump and transfer sludge from mixing tank to the filter press.
Check hydraulic pressure adjustment on the straps.
Constant monitoring and adjustment of flow rates.
Sludge sampling for laboratory analysis.
Perform and record operational data for: thickener levels, polymer dosage, total number of gallons
of sludge processed, amount sludge wagons transported.
Incinerator Operator:
Inspect and adjust all the equipment to verify correct operation and record information.
Set the oven incinerator during the burning of sludge.
Observe feeding of sludge to the hopper.
Continuous monitoring of oxygen levels, temperature and pressure inside the oven to make the
necessary adjustments in the operation.
