• Devised a system to assist the visually impaired in navigating a space using ultrasonic sensors and haptic devices. FIR and IIR filters were employed. System implemented used TDMA although PN codes were also implemented
• Investigated the performance of turbo codes with the BCJR, SOVA and VA algorithms for different block lengths, interleavers and tail-biting techniques; and carried out different channel estimations. Also studied the performance of Product codes with BCJR decoding and DPSK modulation.
• Employed several signal processing techniques some of which include PCA analysis, SVD and Procrustes analysis, completing several tasks including handwriting recognition, spam classification, noise filtering and image compression
• Devised the first Arabic Online Text-independent Writer Recognition Algorithm on Matlab, achieving 96% recognition rate on 35 users; implemented various rejection and pattern recognition methods
• Implemented PID controllers in automating a system to control room temperature
