Position: Quality Engineer October 2013-Present
· Responsibilities: Prepare, verify, and modify top level documents detailing work procedure, quality standards, and documentation requirements for conformance with API Q1 9th ed and API 6A 20th ed. Conduct quality assurance activities for the various production areas to ensure procedures and work methods are being properly executed while implementing cost effective solutions. Investigate and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer complaints (field incident reports) and any failures within the production process. Member of the Material Review Board, which dispositions nonconforming product and serves as a quality role in the development of new product. Develop Quarterly Management Review presentations, which consist of the overall performance of all the processes within the plant and present the results to top Management. Work with production supervisors to develop continuous improvements for the different areas throughout the plant. Conduct periodic training with employees on job specific work instructions, the Quality Management System, and the Quality Policy.
Key Accomplishments:
· Played a key role in getting the company’s license reinstated for the monogram of API 6A product by updating and ensuring the Quality Management System met all necessary requirements of API Q1 8th ed.
· Performed gap analysis of our Quality Management System for the implementation of API Q1 9th ed.
· Developed and implemented product tracking systems for more efficient job traceability throughout the process.
· Developed data analysis tools to track Quality Objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
· Served as Management Representative during external audits to assure compliance to API Q1 9th ed and API 6A 20th ed.
· Developed a training manual and presentations for the opening of a brand new repair facility overseas.
· Increased competency of personnel by developing a training matrix, which clearly defined what documents every employee must be trained to.
· Increased accuracy of production paperwork and testing documents by 75% by developing quality inspection checkpoints throughout the production process.
· Decreased time needed to pull inventory by leading a team of inventory personnel on a project to create storage location designations for all racks and products within inventory.
