Aera Energy Services LLC Aug 2008 to Present
Bakersfield California
• Reservoir Engineer – February 2014 to present
o Strategic Business and Development, New Ventures team.
o Water strategy and disposal management.
o Simulation using CMG of water injection in existing field and recoverable estimates.
o Basin and Field Studies, production history, reserves estimation (Fekete Harmony).
o Economic Assessment for Field development.
o CO2 screening candidates and recommendations for CO2-EOR projects.
• Reservoir Engineer – April 2013 to February 2014
o Exploration Team – Monterrey Shale
o Surveillance of exploration wells
o Data gathering, quality control/analysis of production numbers, well testing, water and oil samples and analysis
o Tracking bottom hole pressure in our wells: using tubing curves (Fekete software) to calculate the bottom hole pressure in flowing wells and using Weatherford’s JEMS software to estimate the bottom hole pressure in wells with jet pump installations.
o Helping to design the jet pump installation and working with our contractor to track pump performance.
o Decline curve analysis and forecasting
o Rate transient analysis
• Production Engineer – December 2012 to February 2013
o Midway Sunset Asset
o Field and pattern surveillance
o Production optimization, RCFAs, pump changes.
o Pattern reviews with the Geologist and Reservoir Engineer, optimize steam injection and production volumes.
• Reservoir Engineer- August 2009 to December 2012
o Diatomite Thermal Recovery, Diatomite Steam Drive Team
o Production Monitoring, Reservoir Engineering and Surveillance Engineering duties.
o Perform reservoir surveillance, generally at the well and pattern level for both water flood and steam flood. Determine injection targets / limits, monitor well and pattern performance data, identify remedial or replacement well opportunities, conduct pattern reviews and follow-up on action items. Identify, perform and document analytical studies which delineate or enhance the Diatomite Steam Drive (DSD) recovery process.
o Provide reservoir engineering support for drilling, completion, and commissioning activities in new DSD patterns. Analyze data gathered during well drilling and completion, determine completion depths for new wells and recompletions identify producers positioned to respond to injection, determine injection rate / pressure set points, initiate surveillance processes in new patterns, work through startup issues with Development, Operations and Investment Recovery teams.
• Major projects include:
o The restructuring of mature steamflood areas from old injector designs to recently used models, updating the saturation profiles for these areas and selecting the completion intervals for new injectors (water and steam).
o Writing the logic and signal criteria and action items for new and existing exception based signals (EBS) for engineering and operations. Provide training and reviews for engineers and operations and signal report look backs on a quarterly basis.
o Temperature visualization; select the candidates for fiber optic installations for temperature monitoring, adjust the scheduling of these surveys and currently working with the Information Management and Technology department to use the raw data into an ArcGIS interface for better visualization and analysis.
o Restructuring of area of classification (engineering strings) for surveillance with the DSD. From naming conventions to well and pattern allocations. Suggestions for production engineers and operations to restructure their surveillance strings as well.
o Production, steam and water forecasts for new and existing development areas. Production decline and relationship with the asset’s and company’s production for...
