Responsible for working with clients on various structural engineering projects including designing new bridge structures, analyzing existing structures for load ratings, and performing hands-on inspection of bridge, tunnel, and other structures. Typical duties include:
Design and Analysis
• Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations for new bridge structures
• Review design calculations and submittals performed by junior staff for quality assurance and accuracy
• Develop and prepare structural plans and details for submittals at various construction stages
• Work with CAD designers to provide guidance in preparing plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design team to develop design build objectives
• Perform shop drawing/erection procedure review
• Prepare and submit responses to construction Requests For Information
• Model and analyze structures using bridge design software including CSiBridge and STAAD Pro
• Perform load ratings on various bridge structures
• Prepare rating reports for submittal to state Department of Transportation
Inspection
• Coordinate with all involved parties regarding mobilization and organization for inspection projects
• Lead inspections of bridge, tunnel, and highway structures as a Team Leader
